The new entry-level SUV, the BMW X1 is offered with a starting price of Rs 35.90 lakh, ex-showroom (India). The new BMW X1 is offered in a range of three trims: SportX, xLine and M Sport. The top-spec BMW X1 M Sport is priced at Rs 42.90 lakh, ex-showroom (India). The mid-spec ‘xLine' variant of the new X1 SUV is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options, while the entry-level ‘SportX' is offered with just the petrol engine. Similarly, the top-spec ‘M Sport' trim is offered with just the diesel engine. The engines on the new BMW X1 include a set of BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The updated 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine produces 192bhp at 6000rpm and 280Nm of torque between 1350 - 4600rpm. The diesel unit also comes in the form of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 190bhp at 4000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1700 - 2500rpm. The petrol engine comes mated to a standard seven-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission unit. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic sport transmission as standard. In terms of design updates, the new BMW X1 now features a larger kidney grille upfront. The signature grille is flanked on either end by a pair of sleek-looking LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. BMW has also updated the front bumper offering a more aggressive design while housing LED fog lamps and a large central air dam. Other changes also include a set of newly-designed alloy wheels, updated LED taillights and a slightly tweaked rear bumper with twin exhaust pipes as well. Inside, the dashboard of the new BMW X1 remains almost similar to the outgoing model. However, there have been slight changes made to the instrument cluster and BMW's i-Drive infotainment system, giving it a more premium feel than before. Other features on the new BMW X1 include wireless charging, smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, keyless entry, panoramic sunroof, push-button start and climate control; to name a few. In terms of safety features: six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system and rearview camera; among others. The new BMW X1 is also offered in a range of 12 colour options. This includes Alpine White, Black, Black Sapphire, Glacier White, Mineral White, Mineral Grey, Sparkling Brown, Sparkling Storm, Mediterranean Blue, Sunset Orange, Jucaro Beige & Storm Bay Metallic.
