Latest Update: The new-gen Honda City will be offered in three variants in India.
Honda City Launch and Price: It is expected to be launched in April 2020 with a slight premium over the current-gen City, which is priced in the range of Rs 9.91 lakh to Rs 14.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Honda City Variants: Unlike the current-gen City that is offered in four variants: S, V, VX, and ZX, the fifth-gen City will be available in three variants: V, VX, and ZX.
Honda City Engine and Transmission: Honda will offer the fifth-gen City with the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, albeit with updates to meet BS6 emission norms. The petrol unit is expected to come with a new 6-speed manual along with the existing CVT option. It will make 121PS -- 2PS more than the current version. The diesel engine is expected to be offered with the existing 6-speed manual as well as a new CVT gearbox. Moreover, Honda may also offer a mild-hybrid system with the upcoming City by 2021.
Honda City Features: In addition to the current-gen City’s existing feature list, Honda is expected to offer the sedan with a new digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, wireless charging, connected car technology, and ventilated front seats like the Thai-spec model.
Honda City Rivals: It will continue to take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Vento, and the Skoda Rapid.
